Parent’s Think Majoring in Arts or Philosophy Won’t Make me Rich or Successful?

Should I take their advice?

You could take their advice because they may just be right.

But what if they’re wrong?

And guess how you go about finding that out? Yup.

So when are you starting class?

Because even if it doesn’t work out (if you really want it, it will) you won’t spend time wondering ‘what if’?

As a kid the best part of the road trips was my grandmother reaching over to wake me up so I could see whatever body of water we were driving over. I love the rattle of the bridge as we drove and how the waves below glistened as the sun struck them. Once we reach the destination, it always felt like home away from home.

So when I toyed with the idea of becoming a Travel Agent, it was someone close that mentioned Travel Agents didn’t make money. And without researching, I believed it. Can you take a guess who, years later, still thinks about becoming a Travel Agent?

Only you really know what you’re capable of and if I could offer you any advice, it would be to come up with a plan. Whatever kind of Artist or Philosopher you want to be, hone in on the skills needed to perfect your expertise. And even if the path you thought you were supposed…
