He was fuming even before he reached the phone. Our third grade class was in the middle of a lesson and and an interruption was never welcomed by Mr. Sullwold. His red hair seemingly became more fiery as he yelled across the room to me. Shrinking further in my seat, I explained in front of the entire class that I had missed class the day before because my family and I were in therapy. “ I’m not sure” I replied when he asked how many more days did I plan on missing. He huffed something back into the phone before he hung up, resuming class. My mother had passed and my siblings though therapy could help us cope. This is one of my earliest memories of anxiety showing up in my life.

Motivational speaker and author Mel Robbins is a self subscribed screw up who had to learn wisdom the hard way. With a lifelong struggle
dealing with anxiety she speaks through her past traumas and hardships, developing a knack for finding ways to simplify very complicated topics usually dealing with mental health.
