I Failed My Writing Challenge. Here’s to Getting Back on Track

I have not published in five days. That would not be a big deal if I did not declare here that I would be writing everyday for 90 days. I could easily blame the fact that I went home to the Midwest for those five days and just did not factor in family as much as I should’ve. That is the truth but it is my accountability to my writing that I have to blame.

I should be used to it at this point because it happens every time I land in the city. My agenda becomes theirs' and my projects fall by the wayside. My first mind created an woe-is-me article about how I am a failure, pathetic and really need to do better. Instead, I’ve reasoned with myself and decided to take the advice of a few writers here.

Writer Mathias Barra published articles daily in 2019 and one of his articles “How to Publish Daily for a Year Without Burning Out” popped up on my article list right after I missed my first day of writing. One piece of advice he gave was to ‘set your days straight,” where he wrote about specific topics on the same day each week. That makes so much sense right?
